In some cases you can specify a "reply to" address. I do this. My "reply to" address is my arrl.net address. Most of these groups will allow your message if you registered with the "reply to" address

Thus far I've receive three of these notices, the other from a contesting.com group. For email I use msn.com as my email service, however my DSL service is provided via PPPoE and a username@Frontier.
