Lee, the best antenna I've ever used for that type of thing was a 3 element wire beam pointed straight up. it was a 40 meter dipole at 30 feet with the reflector at 10 feet and the director at 45 fee

Greetings Tower-Talkians: Several have commented on the horiz FW loop as an effective cloud warmer. I concur. I use an 80 meter horiz FW loop (abt 255 ft total) fed with 160 ft of 450 ohm ladder line

I'd probably go with low wire dipoles. They would be efficient at least, and easy to tune. If you want a more omnidirectional pattern, you might try low inverted V's. Just a thought. 73, Dave AB7E --
