John, I think you'll fnd that most people using the receive jack are using some type of outboard receive antenna switch to take the receiver out of harms way. I have damaged the receive section by no

And for those with newer radios, if you combine a product such as KD9SV's with the ability to delay the onset of TX following key closure, you'd never have to worry about blowing a front end again...

No problem here with the receiving loop about 30 feet from the Inverted L. To be safe though, I purchased the KD9SV Dxpedition Model Dual Pre-Amp with the Front End Protector. It's a very nice unit.
