Hi Mike, You can get solid fiberglass rod from MSC (www.mscdirect.com) I used this rod for my 25G base insulators. You can see a photo of these insulators by clicking on the Tower 4 link at www.k7mi.

Just get smaller rod that fits inside the legs, that should be plenty strong enough. Or get fiberglass tube with an ID that matches the leg OD. I did that for some 48' loaded verticals some years ago

It will Bob... I had a 140ft RTS system loaded with 2 over 2 on 40 and 4 ele stacks for 20, 15 and 10 on a Rohn 45 and it withstood the ice storm of 98 with 2 in of radial ice on everything for 3 day
