Gentlemen, I asked this question a couple of weeks ago and did not get a big response so perhaps you guys were cleaning your garages that day. This is always the place to ask questions and the answer

Well, here is my view: I wanted my new installation to cover 7 bands with beam antennas. I opted for the OptiBeam OB17-4 with the Force12 WARC-7 12 feet above the Optibeam. Seven bands covered with n

I would NOT recomment an A4 with the 40 meter add on kit. My expierence with it is that is really goof's up 20. I put one up for a friend a number of years ago and took it down soon after and removed

my Cushcraft A-4 and an A-3WS. The Force 12 supposedly has only 2 elements per band and does not brag about a lot of gain. Is this just not that great of a beam?? The Cushcraft is no peach either I a

I've had the XR-5 up in the air for two years, and have no complaints. It's small enough to fit on a city lot like mine, and has enough gain to be worth the effort. It doesn't use traps with all the

Last October, I put the similar A743 kit on my A3S. I have not seen this "narrowing" of 20m. The 20m SWR curves are much the same as before. The 40m has a rather narrow SWR bandwidth by itself, but i

Same here. Don't have the 40M on any of my A4S's at present since I have the 402CD, but in the past I've had the 40M combo in three different QTHls (two in Europe) and they always worked well and di

If all you need is a rotatable dipole (and not a beam) you might consider matching the *boom* of you tribander for 30 or 40 meters. I've been using this idea (from N4KG) for years now, and it works v
