Does anyone have a Force 12 Delta 240 up in the air in use? If so, how does it play? According to the Assembly Manual sent to me by Force 12: (1) The weight of the antenna with boom - approx 40 lbs (
I had a Delta 240 which I changed out to a Delta 240/230. Its mounted 5' above a F12 C31XR tribander. The combo works just great. Highly recommended. Pictures on qrz.com Rich - N5ZC On 4/10/2014 5:59
does it play? I've installed a number of the F12 linear loaded antennas and NO ONE has ever said to me that it was a 'great' antenna. I've always thought that the CC 2L shorty forty is the best bang
I have installed the linear loaded F12 40 M antenna. Tried to keep it up for a couple of years before trashing it and buying the CC XM240. No amount of work seemed be enough to keep the F12 antenna u
The Delta 240 is a coil version, and does not use linear loading. I've never owned a Cushcraft but I've had the linear loaded 2 element 40 and two versions of the 240. The first version had coils enc
Interesting. I have a stack of MAG 620/340's on a 120' R45 tower and I have had absolutely NO trouble with my 40M elements. The lower one is a rebuilt antenna after an ice storm - the lighter (older)
I have owned a 620/340 Magnum for many years. I love this antenna. It was up about 10 years before a direct hit by Hurricane Katrina damaged it by breaking the 40 meter elements at the first joint...
I have installed a number of F-12 240 and 340 magnum antennas. and as mentioned, there do need some focus on extra tuning .As a CC 240 CD sure has a number of mechanical issues that the Newer XM 240
The XM240 is a winner, put it up and it works! Agreed! 73 Jim W7RY I have installed the linear loaded F12 40 M antenna. Tried to keep it up for a couple of years before trashing it and buying the CC
I do believe that the coil loaded Shorty 40's (F12 or other) are a much better choice than the linear loaded versions. I think that W8JI wrote a piece on that once ... maybe it's even on his website.
I owned and used the EF240X from Force 12 for about 7 years. The antenna actually worked very well once tuned but it had 2 issues. It was very sensitive to its environment on tuning so you could not
I've had my F12 C-4XL (previous model to the Delta 4-XL) up for a couple of years. So far, zero issues; I'm VERY happy with it. OTOH, I've read multiple accounts of fried inductors in the olde CC sh
I concur with Dave's post. A high-Q loading coil is the best way to shorten a 40m element. The OptiBeam has a massive high-Q loading coil and the antenna performance is excellent. The OB2-40 is well
While were talking about 40 meter antennas. . M2 antennas are ROBUST and the three element a KILLER in more ways then one. You better have a HD mast and mast mounting plate. And the Rotor ... HUMMM I
Agree on all. Mine?s on a ¼ wall steel 2 inch mast. An a 2800 rotor, which has no problem with it. Ed While were talking about 40 meter antennas. . M2 antennas are ROBUST and the three element a KILL
This is an excellent point regarding the pattern of shortened 40m beams and it can easily been seen in a computer model. There are definitely compromises but for the size they can work quite well. Jo
