Hi again folks, Wherever I read the details here, I see that the coax (es) runs should be grounded at the base of the tower before routing to the shack. So, does this mean that I scrape off a piece o

I'd suggest cutting the coax and installing PL-259s on each end. You can then use a threaded barrel connector (short one) with an SO-239 at each end and secure the barrel to a piece of metal angle th

Polyphaser among others makes a clamp for just this application. It provides the transition to copper grounding material and even has some stuff to seal the braid on the coax. 73 John ______________

The best practice is to ground the coax shield at both the top and bottom of the tower. The procedure you described is essentially how it is done. Polyphaser makes kits for doing this very task. Furt

I.C.E. makes a nice coax grounding block. Remove about an inch of outer jacket, spread some conductive paste on the braid and it squeezes it nice and tight for a watertight seal. Look here: http://ww

Warren: I made my own coax shield grounding connector and posted something about this a few years ago: http://lists.contesting.com/archives//html/Towertalk/2002-07/msg00698.html . My approach gives y
