- Does anyone have experience with HST4-50 Heliax? Can it be buried, is it uv resistant like ldf4? Anything else I need to know on using it? Ron Zerr WT5RZ 915-494-1892 ________________________________

- This coax is great. I use it on my club's VHF repeater. It has been up for four years. The only negative I can find is higher cost. As you say, use only good connectors, and seal properly against wat

- It's a specialty cable. Plenum, air dielectric. Meant for indoor use. Pros: low loss, doesn't create dangerous fumes when burned. Cons: Not good for outdoor use - Not UV protected - any water ingress

- If that is truly an air dielectric coax, meaning a helical spiral structure instead of foam dielectric, then it has to be pressurized or run with a dryer if it's outside. An air dielectric 1/2 inch l

- I tried an air dielectric coax outdoors once in the late 80's. I used Belden 9913 and I was amazed at how much water got into the cable - it literally was a garden hose. I would avoid using HST4-50 e
