Vacuum relay RF isolation 1.8 to 30 MHz frequency range? I am planing to construct an antenna switch for a Multi-2 operation. Each antenna will be shared with two stations. Using two single pole norm

What brand and model relay? This is a spec that is usually given in the data sheet. A typical value might be something like 40 or 50 dB isolation. (see, for instance, http://www.mgs4u.com/relay.htm )

operation. Each pole normally to the antenna. As long as you use a single-armature relay and as long as you make sure no failure in voltage or switching can dump one rig into another it will be OK!

Are you thinking front end burnout, or same band isolation? Even though the relay mfr only guarantees 40dB, you have seen 60 dB? I wouldn't be surprised, since the mfr is specing a "worst case under

seen 60 dB? Sure. I measure it all the time with accurate instruments. case under all number. Array Solutions 55-60dB for the specs for the RatPak, etc. The Rat Pack I measured had -51.7 dB crosstal

Useful to know... Thanks. Did you happen to measure the impedance characteristics of the cross talk? That is, given that the isolation decreases with increasing frequency, it would appear to be prima

Guys, This is what I have found. Using surplus vacuum relays from Russia W1W-1.5kw in this test. Two relays mounted next to each other in an aluminum box. No shielding between the relays. Both normal

the cross talk? There are multiple causes at work including ground loops in a PC board. It seems many switches have more problems with ground loops and lead dress than with relay capacitance. differ

Hi Rich, If the wiring is what it sounds like to me, you are really setting yourself up to eventually seriously damage your radios. No shielding terminal from each relay box to a 50 ohm What happens
