I prefer pots, but the way he does them doesn't work in my icy environment... so I found he has both and he sent me a kit to put in a magnet/relay for pulse counting. now I just have to get up there

Hmmm.. just had a failure and replacement pot sent. Maybe I should have gone with the relay/magnet. New pot looks much different than the original Dick - KB1H I use the pulse counters on my K0XG ring

Oh, just the pot, not the whole housing. On mine the fiber bushing swelled up and jammed the shaft, he sent me a whole new one in the housing with a metal bushing then I had a new brass bushing made
