All: I have an 80 meter dipole fed with 300 ohm ladder line that needed to be moved to a different location. The antenna is 110 feet long and the ladder line is attached to a DX Engineering 1:1 tuner

Your transmission line, being an odd multiple of ¼ wavelength, will transform your nominal 70 antenna to about 1300 so your observed SWR seems to be what I would expect.  If the line were an even mul

Mike: I expected the outcome you describe to some extent. Unfortunately, my antenna tuner has limited range so I'll need to modify the feed line length to bring the SWR down and hopefully retain the

All: I manged to tweak the length of the 300 ohm ladder line to where the SWR dropped to 1:1 in the middle of the 80 meter band. The SWR decreased on 40 through 10 as well so I can now use my limited

In my view, if your antenna impedance does not match your feedline impedance, you do not have a "feedline", but rather a very large "impedance transformer. Ken WA8JXM On 10/27/18 3:23 PM, Paul Christ
