Never had one, but obviously the "real" solution. If using rope, it could be rigged as a halyard and removed from the bottom when the job is done. One could even leave some junk rope rigged and pull

I thought of that, but couldn't figure out how to secure the top end of the lifeline without climbing up there. Perhaps there's some mechanism which would do that. Otherwise, the halyard has to be as

Of course, that would require twice as much lifeline and one very large (5/8", 6,000 pound) pulley. Because my tower is 70 feet, and the lifeline comes in 100 foot increments, I would have had to buy
