Don W7WLL I have found that the label strips printed by a Brother P-touch labeller appear to be rain proof and UV proof. I labelled some tower sections that have been outdoors continuously for 5 year

There is actually shrink tubing that comes on a cartridge that you can put inside a Brother P-Touch.   The P-Touch will print directly onto the shrink tubing.  Note that the font size printed on the

As you note, there's a big difference between outdoor & indoor conditions. It's hard to beat clear heatshrink over your label of choice for outdoor use - IF you have the foresight to slide the heatsh
