Some anecdotal evidence that could be useful. In 1988, I operated as 3DA0/ZS6BCR. I used a Butternut HF2V on 160, in the middle of a corrugated iron barn roof, perhaps 20 x 40 m in size and peaked. T

Gee, if the roof is resonant on any band of interest, it might detune your antennas. Or it might make one antenna more directional than it already is. But, a roof mounted vertical would get the added

Without any direct experience, other than a trap vertical on a 20 x 40 metal roof made up of 4x8 metal sheets, I'd say a vertical would work fine, but anything else nearby could be adversely affected

Our court house has a copper metal roof (flat). Hustler Vertical antennas require an added $45. shunt coil (16 turns) to couple the low impedance to 52ohm coax. The Hustler vertical trap antennas are

What does "interferes with the 2 meter repeater" mean? We could get in the ballpark SWR curves to prove an A4S tribander was assembled correctly for FD at about 60' out and 42' up from a 56 x 70 x 14

Hi Skip, The "interference" is probably passive intermod (rectification at one or more joints in that roof) that is generating a spur on the input frequency of the repeater.  If this is the cause, th

Probably something like that, but it's not my expertise -- you'll have to take that up with someone who knows the metal being used and how to properly bond it.  I'd start with the roofer, but don't e
