I used a Bobtail years ago, the conventional three element kind. It worked OK on 75 meters, but almost never as well as two inverted V dipoles with 40 feet apex that were phased. Mine was out in the

For our FD efforts, I used a Bobtail for 20CW. We had another antenna, a Double Extended Zepp, and I wasn't too pleased with it. It seems as though sigs were louder on the Bobtail than on the DEZ...

We (Tamiami Amateur Radio Club) used a bob-tail this year in our QRP effort and it worked really well. Of course being in SW Florida, the only direction we need is North. We used it here on Casey Key
