Read about the Comet CHA-250B. This antenna is interesting to me, as it covers all bands continuously, 1.5-50 MHz (I am an SWL, too). My ultimate plan is to put up my 70' tower, with multiple beams (

I am getting great results with a ground mounted Hustler 5-BTV. I do have 72 ground radials in the yard that make up nearly 1300 ft of wire. Pics of the installation on www.ad5th.com Charlie Ham Radi

I'd have to agree. If you're going to use a vertical no need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on the others. I just got done setting my father-in-law up with a GAP dummy load.....errr.....I mean

What about an Inverted L antenna off the tower using a yard arm and pully? if your are just using it for spotting. Multiband transmitting would be another story on the Inv.L. The Hustler 5 BTV is gre

I had a GAP Titan that would take 1500 watts on all bands except 80. Did not realize the 80 limitation before blowing the top cap. GAP replaced it. Antenna performed well until my first tri-band Yagi

that's only 20-30 dB down from a real antenna! That was quite an eye-opener. Evidently, there is such a thing as a multiband E-H. -WB2WIK/6 I'd look at QST and other reviews of Gap antennas where th

One doesn't want to really look at SWR range as an evaluation of antenna performance. Take ANY antenna, put a 7 dB attenuator on it, and the worst possible SWR will be 1.5:1 (For example, a T pad wit

For an inexpensive RX spotting antenna why not just suspend a vertical wire from a convenient tree limb, string a few radials on the ground, measure SWR and tweak for the main bands of interest and s
