I am in the process of phasing two verticals on 160 mtrs. They are spaced 1/2 wavelength apart and my plan is to use a switch box and feed them either in phase or 180 out. The alignment of the vertic

Or you can simply switch in a 180 degree transformer, but the coax line is probably easier. You do not need to "current force feed" two elements that are fed in phase, or 180 degrees out of phase be

Hi Dick, The feedlines to each vertical need to be equal lengths. They do not have to be 3/4 wavelength, however. You can save on coax by using two lines that are equal length and long enough to conn

As Ian says, the new Handbooks have a much better handle on phasing. Unfortunately, the wording is a bit unclear unless you already understand what is going on. At least in the sections I have read.

Hi all. I wonder if there is someone I could send a copy of the CQ article to who could scan it and maybe put it on a web-site somewhere. I have gotten lots of requests for it. I could send someone a

Hi All I've gotten quite a few emails about where I got the info on these 3 phased verticals. It was in the July, 1962 July issue of CQ magazine. 73 Tom W7WHY ________________________________________

This report is in the back of the AV-12AVQ and AV-14AVQ manuals you can download on the HY-Gain web-site. Interesting..Thanks for the info. 73 John W8JJW ____________________________________________

Also note that the phasing for the cardioid array shown in that report is incorrect. You can't just add a "delay" line of 1/4 wavelength to get 90 degree phasing. Tor N4OGW _________________________
