Dave I have done a full sized 3 EL 40 more than once. You have 2 choices, tram and crane. The Tram works very well if you have the space to set it up. You'll need at least space to run the tram line

I trammed a TH-11DX to the top of my 100 foot Rohn 25 tower last year. I did this alone with no help and found it relatively painless. I would have appreciated some help pulling the rope! I STRONGLY

Dave, you have to have competent ground help to do all of the weight lifting. With upwards of a hundred pounds of weight the man on the tower can only help. Unless you have obstructions near the towe

If your mast isn't strong enough to support tramming the antenna, it's not strong enough to support the antenna once you get it up there. 73, Jerry _______________________________________________ ___

Not the same. The TH11 will likely be 6" above the thrust bearing. The tram line is at the top of the mast maybe 6ft away. This is why you need a pulley on the line on the mast and that the rope/tram

I have never done a crane install so I will let others speak to that. For Tram of a 70 ft tower, you have 2 choices from my experience. Tram to the point on the mast above the tower (say 73') and hav

I've used both the 2 wire slide and tram methods. I found the tram method to be best. Read Ed's post. Strong agreement with Ed's comments. Another poster suggested using a tiller on the antenna's boo

I rarely use tram lines, I find it much easier plus its a quicker set up to pull it straight up. Like Gerald said a tag line can help guide it around obstacles. I use two tag lines on each side of th

This is especially true if you work alone. One thing that can help is to turn the antenna so that the elements are vertical. For a tribander you can do this less than 15 feet off the ground. Then jus

To the OP: unless you have installed, been part of an installation, or have at least witnessed an installation of an antenna, asking "how to install...." is like asking how to do an engine rebuild or
