Hello T-T'ers, A long time ago, HyGain (Telex / HyGain) used to put a specification for allowable vertical loads in their manuals. I was wondering about the maximum vertical load for a Tailtwister ro

Brad With a three support arrangement (Rotor-Bearing-Bearing) you have an indeterminate system that varies with temperature. You can't tell what the load is without freeing two of those. Bill--W4BSG

Don't the two bearings that you have installed hold the weight of the mast leaving no vertical load on the rotator? John KK9A Hello T-T'ers, A long time ago, HyGain (Telex / HyGain) used to put a spe

Which would be a bad idea. The Ham series should have at least some weight on them. I think the Tailtwister will hold up to 500# but that's from a foggy memory at best. Every one seems to list wind l

I don't see how the load could be shared. One of the three has it all. But then I don't even play an engineer on TV, much less be one. 73, Mike NF4L _______________________________________________ __

Only under ideal conditions. IOW in the practical world they can not share the load. OTOH if the shaft shrinks with cold temps the shaft will pull on the rotator and one of the bearings. Or, it can p
