Point the yagis straight up with the reflector not touching the ground and make your observations. I did this with my monobanders and there was no change when installed on my 70 foot tower. de Paul,

Not sure there is a "rule of thumb". If I had to guess, I would say it depends on the antenna design and the frequency... One datapoint: just this weekend my Cushcraft 15-4CD dipped low in frequency
