John, I would consider both of these tower sections to be good candidates for the base section to be buried in concrete. Personally, I wouldn't use them anywhere else. I cannot recall a bent diagonal

I used zink-it    it is a cold galvanizing spray can. Clean with brake cleaner and apply. I found it at Kirby Risk  I think $7.00 a can. One can will do allot. Buster kg9nd __________________________

I did not worry about it. I inspect the tower about once a week or so, give it a good look over and every so often I check bolts, cables, ect.  Jest as I would a new one. Buster kg9nd _______________
