Yes and Yes. I use the 3M variety. http://www.rogerhalstead.com/ham_files/connectors.htm that contains a lining of hot melt glue (IOW flooded) It adds strength and weather proofing to the connections

Hi Scott, I've had good and not so good experiences with using shrink tubing on PL-259. The good is with the really heavy duty "flooded" variety. It is flooded with adhesive that really bonds the tub

Go to the electrical supply houses. The stuff that is large enough to fit over a PL-259, or even LMR-600 connector and shrink to less than a 1/4", very heavy duty and costs about $10 for a 4' length.

Hi Scott Seems to me that I saw somewhere a sealer that went inside the shrink tube. Then when you heat the tubing, it shrunk and kept the sealer inside. 73 tom W7WHY ________________________________
