I don't think you can check and antenna SWR this way. If you could pull it up 40' or tip it so that the beam is pointing toward the sky, you may get more usable data. John KK9A My 4L SteppIR with the

Mike I have had good luck by using a small tripod holding a 10 ft TV mast on which I temporarily mount the beam and then make swr adjustments to the antenna. So far several+ beams of HF single band o
