I will select the  Silver plated N connector over the Nickel plated UHF http://www.texastowers.com/cc600nms.htm from that selection  in TexasTowers  is what looks better  for me I think silver is bet

As far as water getting through the threaded part, one should never use any connector outside without water protection. It is not optional if you want long connector life. Agreed. I use the 3M floode
