OK, I got the base poured this week (haven't been out to look at it) so now it is time to get serious about getting the tower going (tower will be delivered in about six weeks maybe). Next big step i
1) I would run the coax and the ground/power via the same route even though they would be in separate conduits. 2) I would not bury steel conduit ... it will most likely rust in short order. Use PVC
Dont run the ground wire in conduit. Run it in the ground... Works better that way ;) Keep the ground wire at least 24 inches from other conductors. Ground radials with rods are a great way to go. Ke

Informative discussion, thanks. As you discuss ground moisture, keep in mind that I am in the Sonoran desert of Arizona. The regular well that's supposed to supply four houses (right now, barely mine
Rather than quote myself, I'll simply put in the revised plan. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts. See flikr picture here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lwlpix/7916824198/in/photostream/lightbox/
The use of ground rods spaced at 2x the rod length was covered in the Polyphaser book on lightning and perhaps elsewhere. As I recall (it has been a few years since I read it) the idea was better dis

The radial and rods were underground. I will try to dig out the book and reread it. It has been some time (10 years?) since I last read it. There may have been more to the rationale than I remember.
