A house I am looking at has a slightly peaked roof that is 32' high at the peak, but the roof has a 6' overhang (picture a log cabin where the roof sticks out 6'  in front and in back of the house).

What is the half length of your longest element? Can the beam be turned 90 degrees? Does the antenna HAVE to come down all the way? Can it stay at 32'? Could a tilt-plate solve your issue? To answer

I would just not crank it all the way down or add a 10' mast. If it is motor driven, perhaps you can move the micro switch to avoid the antenna hitting the roof. If you cannot tilt it partially exten
