Pat, McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com) doesn't appear to have any 1/2" titanium bolts (I think the biggest bolt they carry in titanium is 1/4-20), but they do have 4" long x 1/2-13 titanium threaded s

Another idea may be to use 4130 tool steel. Find a screw and bolt manufacturer (fabricator) in the yellow pages and see if they will fab up a pin in the diameter and length you need. Just a thought.

Any particular reason you need Titanium (as opposed to, say, high strength Stainless Steel, which is much more available, in general)? Ti is less dense for the strength, and has good corrosion resist
