I contacted Hub City (who makes our US Tower reduction gears) and they recommended using a synthetic lube, lasts longer, and the gear box runs cooler. I went to a synthetic lube. It is easy to change

Which begs the question who did it and what did it cost? pulley (I guess due to ice) when I was lowering the tower. So, cable was riding on the Pulley axle until I could lower it to get at the cable
