Since the beam isn't all that heavy and the tower isn't all that tall, why go through all the trouble of rigging a tram line. Simply hook a pulley on top of the mast with a rope running to the ground

I've put up a number of large antennas using this method and as Bill said it works great - even with no helpers. Since the beam isn't all that heavy and the tower isn't all that tall, why go through

It's long and has to be rotated around each set of guys if not trammed. Basically one person can set up the tram and either raise or lower an antenna. Still it's good to have extras around for go-fer

I won't even go up a tower without all the guys. When I assemble one, each section gets its own set of temporary guys until we reach the location for the next permanent set. Then the lower temps come
