Hi All, I'm putting a tower in a field at my QTH, and the field is terraced a bit. One guy anchor will be at the same level as the base, and one about three feet above that level and another about th

Why do you think they should be any different? The angles should be the same regardless of the length, no? Otherwise the preload would need to be different on each guy to exert a consistent downward

I don't see how it is possible for the angles to be the same - not mentioned, but I'm doing as I think most do, which is one anchor point per pair of guys. I can keep the angle of the top set of guys

I am not a mechanical engineer but what I do is move the lower anchor further out (~3' in your case) and move the higher one closer to the tower in an attempt to maintain the guy wire angle at the to

Oh, I see what you are saying. It didn't sink in before. I was thinking that the anchor sould be placed along an imaginary line running from the top guy to your anchor point at grade. So an anchor up

YES! I have exactly that situation with my 120 ft of Rohn 25 with ground that slopes +/- 15 ft. It's in a dense redwood forest, and each of the 12 guys (at 30, 60, 90, 120 ft) is lagged to the base o

When I wrote lower anchor, I was referring to the guy anchor with the lower elevation relative to the tower base. I was not implying to use a separate anchor further out just for the lower guy (which

Don't know of any official engineered way to handle different height guy anchors. For mine where that was an issue I just calculated how far out it would be to keep the same angle at the tower to eac

I don't see how it is possible for the angles to be the same Draw a vertical line representing your tower. Now, draw lines from the vertical line outward, at a 45 degree angle, even some at 22.5 if y

My tower was put up on the side of a hill, I tried to maintain a constant angle of the guys relative to the tower as best as I could, without the use of any surveying instruments. It came out pretty

You did not say what tower you had but one option would be to use stronger tower which allows more distance between guy points. Look at the guy specs for Rohn 45GSR or 65G. Another option may be to b
