While I also rely on friends in the country for contesting, I use a variety of antennas at my meager suburban lot. I use a Gap Titan for 10-40M, and wire vertical with capacitance hat for 80M contest

I used a 40XK for two DXpeditions and it is a great little vertical. I sold it and have ordered the relay control version with a switch for 40-30-20. You still have to manually change the T-bars for

You can do a lot of contesting if you can put up a short tower. A 40 or 50 foot tower can support a tribander w/ a 40m dipole option, and can be shunt-fed for 80 and 160m with a matching network. I h
