I am getting parts together for a 160m vertical, using Rohn 25G sections. I am looking for a Rohn insulating tower section. If someone has one, please drop me an email. I managed to locate one a whil

One possibility... The Hy-Gain Hy-Tower multi-band vertical comes with three insulators that are used to insulate the base of the antenna from the rest of the mounting structure which is set in a cub
For my 80m Four Square, I had insulators made out of G-10 fiberglass rod, but I feel these are not suited for such a tall structure. Why wouldn't you think it's strong enough. G-10/FR-4/Garolite is p
Did we ever come to a conclusion as to whether or not a flat sheet (like 1" thick or more) of HDPE plastic would work? Sandwich the sheet between the concrete and a flat bottomed pier pin type base.

I will use these if all fails. UHMWPE material will outlast fiberglass in the sun too. 73's NJ0F http://www.wb0w.com/tower_insulators _______________________________________________ _________________
No reason why it wouldn't work that I can think of. Basically, you get a large plastic cutting board. You'd need to work out some sort of way to insulate the bolt, though. Chris KF7P On 12/15/15 10:

I think I will probably end up using WB0W's insulators. My two main concerns with G10 fiberglass: 1) - They DONT like the sun. Yes, I can probably wrap them, but they will be elevated 30ft in the air

Chris, The insulators would by 30ft up the tower, so although I think this would work nice at ground level, doing something like this up there would require additional hardware. I think as of now, th

John, Rohn does not manufacture the 25RG that 3star has on their site (they do show discontinued though). I confirmed this with Rohn directly. 73's NJ0F Rohn makes insulators http://www.dxengineering
