Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone out there knows if the Bird 43 wattmeter and Coaxial Dynamics peak reading wattmeter work with 75 ohm coax or just 50 ohm? If they don't work properly with 75 ohm c

// I arrive at PEP by measuring peak RF voltage across the load R with a freshly calibrated oscilloscope and a x100 probe. For a sinewave, P-peak=(E-peak^2)/R and PEP=P-peak/2. This method works wit

Hi Bob, I don't know about 75 ohm options for the Bird 43 or Coaxial Dynamics Wattmeters. You might want to call the factory and ask them if they can modify the directional couplers for a 75 ohm char

The line section has a surge impedance of 50 ohms, and the slugs are nulled at 50 ohms. You could re-null the slug at 75 ohms, assuming it has enough range inside. I have no idea if Bird does this,

Woops! The prototype 259B I have is not the 259B that is production. Mine is a transition unit to the 269 which is 16-bit and has more memory and does more or different things. Sorry about that. 73,

Hi Bob, I went through this exact issue about 26 years ago and could not find the answer, even from the Bird rep in this area. The result was that I bought a special 75 Ohm version of the Bird 43 wat
