I was looking at the engineering drawing for Rohn 25G yesterday, and was surprised to see that the total length of a section is 10' 0". This *includes* the 3.5" that is inserted into the next section

Been that way for years, Rohn 20 is the same. Rohn 45 and 55 is longer and gives you a true 10 ft. On the other hand the DX station will never be able to tell the difference between a 66 footer and a

I think this calls for a class action lawsuit! LOL! Chris KF7P Apparently I am supposed to be more concerned about the way Mitt Romney spends his money than how Obama spends mine. ___________________

Trylon does the same thing. The sections overlap about 5 inches. They give you a mast that bolts inside to give the true height of the tower. The T-600 is made up of 8 - 8 ft sections so the actual h

So all this time, we've been building as tall as local law will allow, and we're shorting ourselves? The inches...the precious inches! Mike N1TA The top flat sections are only 8 ft tall if my memory

Coincidentally a few weeks ago I measured some "8 foot" Heights sections. As with Rohn, they basically have a "gross" height of 8 feet, but actually that even varied slightly from section to section.

The real bummer about this false advertising is that it can cause at least a .02 dB loss in signal strength at HF, unless that extra 3 ft. would get you over the top of that metallic shield around yo

Not in any context that's relative to performance. HFTA says that for a 3 element yagi on either 40m or 20m over level ground that the difference in forward gain between 100 feet and 97 feet is 0.2 d
