I have a Cushcraft XM240 at 90 feet which, despite double lock nutting and Locktight, rotates on its own several degrees in high winds. The first time it did this the beam descended about a foot on t

Double nutting and LockTight assures that the nuts don't wander away from the bolts. It sounds like you need to increase the friction between mast and clamp somehow. Is the first set of nuts tight en

Try the DX Engineering Saddle Clamps as they have a lot of contact area with the mast with the cast aluminum saddle. The 2" size comes in two bolt diameters, obviously the 3/8" u-bolt can handle more

That is really strange. I have a XM240 at 135 feet for 11 years. It has been hit by lightning twice and has had to be taken down both times and reworked and put back up. I can't say I am aware of it

I'd suggest that for real grip you do not need lots of contact area, instead you need "teeth" on the saddle. Something like this ............... http://www.aerial-parts.co.uk/shop/article_150/V-Bolt.

I use a HyGain cast aluminum mast clamp for my 402CD++ (unpinned). That's bolted onto a 2" Chromolly mast. It's been up for 15+ years without a truss wire and never a problem. I have no idea if they

I also Like Tyler Opted to use the Hy-Gain/Telex Cast mast clamps on the XM240. This is a know issue with the original 402CD and the XM240. Mater of fact I use a Pair of them So I can rotate the ante

I've done the same as K3MM and used the Hygain cast clamp. I haven't had any issues with it slipping, around or down. 73, Stew K3ND I use a HyGain cast aluminum mast clamp for my 402CD++ (unpinned).

Teeth? Yes, or a rough contact area, but the clamps shown below are not what you want to use on a heavy load unless they are far larger than they look. They cost more, but those large saddle clamps w

I think "teeth" are a bad bet to get a good grip on an alloy steel mast which will have yield strength from 80 to 125ksi. The high end of that range is nearly "file hard" so it will be very unlikely
