Jim is correct here ... 72' is a half wave on 40 meters. Stacking a second antenna at half that height would put the lower antenna at *one* *quarter wave* above ground. The lower antenna would have i

I meant to type 1/4 WL. With 1/2 WL spacing it would work well John KK9A Two shorty 40's can work amazingly well together however I also disagree with Steve only because of the 1/8 WL stacking distan

One caveat for "terrain analysis" is that HFTA does not model stacks well around 1/4 wl and less separations. So that leaves NEC/EZNEC which does give accurate results but over flat terrain. It will

I was fortunate to be using K6STIs YO and TA programs to model my antennas over my incredibly complex terrain. I found no equal program when it came to the combination of modeling antenna stacks over

I never used TA and I was not aware that it worked modeled stacks. That is fantastic. I would love to see a program that could model verticals over terrain. I used YO and AO a lot, Brian did an amazi

? ? ? ? One of my all time favorite ideas. Stacked would give you similar performance to a full sized 3L plus you get angle and directional diversity. And you don't need expensive rotators! Like my o

The low-Q loading coils probably contribute to the 250KHz SWR bandwidth that K7LXC posted. John http://www.qsl.net/ve6wz/intro.htm scroll down til u see the info on the XM-240. http://www.qsl.net/ve6

Of course I was being facetious calling them low-Q but forgot the smiley. That is incredible SWR bandwidth for a shorty 40. John John http://www.qsl.net/ve6wz/intro.htm scroll down til u see the info
