Hi Wonder if anyone might know where i can buy a few meters of Aluminum Wire around 2-3mm in diameter. Needs to be fairly firm and straight as its to replace linear-loading wires on a hygain 2el 40mt

Force 12 would have it since they use it in alot of their The Force 12 wire in the antennas I have looks like thin aluminum welding wire. The wire in my HyGain 40m looks several times thicker. ______

it's I'd stay away from a thin wire. Linear loading is bad enough with a conductor having large surface area. I wouldn't use anything thinner than Hygain originally uses. Strength is only a small pa

Aluminium wire. I think that some of the power wire coming into the house uses Al. It is in a thick gauge. Look at it. The common is not insulated and tends to be the carrier for the wire. Just a tho

I checked my hygain antenna the aluminum wire is .125" I just bought a 40ft roll at radio shack that was .125" cost $5.19 a roll. It unrolls and works great for replacement on the Hygain 40m antennas
