It's difficult to do that without considering how the antenna works, or is intended to work. When you place (an effective) choke balun on the coax, you are essentially insuring that the coax does not

choke topic. Jim, A few comments. To be most effective the ferrite needs to be placed at a point where common mode impedance is low. It also has to be placed at a point where the change it makes red

If openwire has too big a profile, how about 300 ohm twin lead? I have used this on OCF dipole fed about 30% from one end. The twin lead ran to a ground mounted grounded balun, then coax to the shack
