in my opinion it is "cheaping out" that has people going to non-steel. It is the desire to save TIME on cutting and installing insulators on the EHS steel cable and instead going to inferior guying (

I think there is pretty much common agreement that just guying with long stretches of EHS without putting any breaks of 502s in it is mechanically the best way to go, and for most stations it is the

OK, my 02 cents worth. EHS is cheaper (less expensive) than Phillystran, but I don't think by much. In some aspects steel is superior and Philly in others. The stretch is considerably more than steel

How do you know that? When I cut 6700lb Phillystran, it takes a bolt cutter, same as 1/4 EHS rated at 6000lb. In fact, it usually takes more force to cut the Philly. What is the actual difference in
