Does anyone have any ideas about how to reduce the amount of slippage of my mast in my yaesu G1000DXA? It is hard to torque the bolts down without cracking that cast aluminum clamp. Thanks, Joe N4JBK

I seem to recall reading about some rubber-ish shims you could use - extra grip + slight shock absorption on start/stop. Pinning isn't my favorite thing - I'd rather have to re-orient a mast than rep

Joe When I put up my KT34XA, I drilled a hole through the back of the bracket holding the mast, then threaded the hole and ran a screw into both bracket and mast. It has held just fine. 73- Fred, W6T
