Ken, I have used Amphenol PL-259 Push-on's on HF for many years with great success. I disconnect my main coaxial line in the shack at the end of every day (habit) and the connector is still tight and

I've used them in the past with no *apparent* problems, BUT IIRC the shell only makes contact with the raised edges of the chassis connector. That leaves a very small contact area that is some what

The part number on the RF Connection website is RFC83-55PA, which sounds suspiciously like the number you remember ;) I would guess it is Amphenol as well. 73, Dave AB7E _____________________________
