I have heard that someone in Ohio (NO8D?) has an 80-meter yagi stack - never seen any pictures, though. 73, Pete N4ZR _______________________________________________ _________________________________

More big yagi's... OK... I have to mention the 5EL Full-sized 40M Yagi that Dale W6VSS (K6UA) built out on a 100 foot Rohn 25 boom.... "Beam me up Scotty!!" 73, Don, W4WJ **Create a Home Theater Like

The boom on this is only 76 feet. That would be 19 feet on 20 meters. This seems way too short to justify 4 elements. In fact you can do pretty well with 3 elements up to a 26 ft boom on 20m. IMHO, t

My good friend Chuck, K9RM (EX k9rms) who lives near Indy has a 25 element wire yagi for 40m with a total boom length of around 1000'. I live north of him about 80 miles or so. A year or two ago Chuc

Or, did he do this for bandwidth/matching reasons just as K3LR/W3LPL/etc do with their 4L40m? Remember also that a ~ 0.25 - 0.30w boom, per my old W2PV notes, can have a naturally higher F/B ... Just

Billy is correct, VE6JY's antenna is an OWA Yagi, using the classic two element OWA driver system. One element is a driven element and the second element is a tightly coupled parasitic element whose

Out of curiosity I added 9 directors to a 4 el yagi model in EZNEC. Same spacing and length as the two already existing directors. The gain increased with each added until the 9th element was added a

As others have correctly stated, it is an OWA style design so it is closer to a 3 element on 76 feet, which is a bit short still, but in in the 9 1/2 years that it has been up, it has been a good per

Thanks for clarifying that. It still seems to me it would be easier to switch in reactances at the center of the driven element that it would be to have an additional element. A lot of the 80M Yagi's

Gedas, just curious. Is he using trees to support his wire elements? If so, getting the wires all in the same plane and reasonably parallel has to be a major problem. He must be a very determined and
