I agree with Bill; it happened to me several times in the past. What I've done was I glued a rubber washer (spacer) around the Power push button such that it was higher than the button. Problem cured

Ar solution that works for me: Insert a coaxial power connector (that's POWER, not a PL259!) into the external power jack. This disconnects the internal battery. The ground lug and antenna connection
