System is shutting down (going into sleep mode) to save itself wear and tear. Hard drive I am sure is shutting off too which explains why a few seconds to get going again. Probably a BIOS setting. Pr

I would guess you are going into some kind of sleep state. I would look through the various setup menu items under Control Panel and make sure your screen saver and stand-by options are all disabled
