Ok I am not familiar with these "light" QSOs so forgive me if this is a stupid question. How do you know the frequency that you are "transmitting" on? My understanding is that part of what we must do

I don't know if it is a big deal since with light, you don't really need an amateur radio license to experiment. And how is the FCC going to monitor it? But with lasers you generally have a good idea

It doesn't matter.. anything above 300ghz is available for Amateur use, I believe, it is the same "band" as far as the contest is concerned .. you cant change from green laser to red laser and make a

(with regard to "light frequencies"...) How do you know the frequency that you  are "transmitting" on?  ... So I ask again how do you know where you are both for FCC compliance and contest credit? --
