George, Rob, et al: I did know that all would be well from the radio side. And, as K6RB reminded me, Ctrl F1/F2 adjusts the mode. It just seemed peculiar that it does not work "smart" from the keyboa

That's the point, George--WL does not do that in this mixed-mode contest. I tried subbands with and without overlap or intersection. e.g. 3500-3750 CW, 3750-4000 LSB. I could go from 3505 to 3795 OK-
