Hi Lee I use serial keying here at home on my XP Pro, 1.5 Ghz pc and serial keying is fine. We used lpt port keying using 98 on P 133's at our local club with WriteLog and it worked fine this weekend

I suspect the serial port or RF getting into the cable. Was it a "real" serial port, or was it a USB simulated serial port? USB simulated serial ports are well known to have serious timing problems.

I am not sure that is a fair assessment of WL's abilities when run on your laptop. There is no mention of the "vintage" of your laptop, OS, WL version, total RAM, free RAM, or interface used with you

I would like that too. The only reason I have the W5XD keyer is to use as a keyer with Writelog and DXbase, as I only have one radio. The W5XD key/SO2R box is very nice but really more than I need. T
