It is my understanding that ARRL intends to permit FT8 QSOs to count during the 2019 ARRL RTTY Roundup in January. The ARRL web site still has the 2018 rules, so can't confirm this has been announced

Regardless the possible rule change for FT8 in RTTY RU, definitely I felt necessary in the last CQ VHF contest. The most time, there were totally no activity in SSB/CW portion except DX busy on 50.31

I do not use the radio interface on FT8 for that exact reason. WSJT will run without it. Use FT8 on one side of the screen with no radio control and a logging program on the other side of the screen

I've been running WSJT and WriteLog for over a year in the VHF contests. My only issue is that I would like WriteLog to work like N1MM+ and grab the Qs from WSJT and put them automatically in the log
