I have that setup. No, you cannot do rig control and keying over the same RS232 line. The only rig that will do that, to my knowledge, is the K3. I still key out of LPT1 with a transistor level shift

Hi Bruce, You should be able to do it with just one serial port. I use an old Thinkpad Laptop with a real serial port. My rig (mainly 6M) is an FT-920. I use a Rigblaster with a slight modification.

Not with the FT-450/950/2000/3000/5000/9000 in their default configuration. The "new" Yaesu transceivers require handshake on the CAT port which prevents using DTR and RTS for CW and PTT respectivel
