Hi All, I just purchased WriteLog. I am trying to set it up with my FT-2000. I have my serial cable connected and I can poll the rig. No problem there. When I try to use any of the "F" keys, the PTT

Gordon, Have you gone to Setup/Ports yet and defined which port you intend to use for CW? Notice there are three columns for indicating the Com ports to use for CW, DVK and Antenna relay. Assuming yo

Hi Gary and the group. Here is what I have for WL. I have my FT-2000 connected through a straight through Serial Cable on COM 1. I have the radio Selected as FT-2000 and the Computer port set to auto

Hi Marsh, That must be my problem. I have Com 1 connected to the FT-2000 CAT port and that part works fine. I was under the impression that I could send CW through the same cable but apparently that

I think I have it figured out. It appears I need to place a small transistor on the DTR line from the Com port to the keying jack. By doing that, i should be able to do everything from the same port.

Ok, That was the FIX. I installed a 5k resistor from pin 4 on the serial cable to the Base of a NTE-123A transistor. I then connected the Emitter to pin 5 ( ground). In did not cut the wires in the S

Hi Gordon. Its the RTTY 4 pin socket, PTT on pins 3(PTT) and 4 (Gnd), FSK on pins 1 (shift) and 4 (Gnd). FSK and PTT on one comm port and the Rig control and CW on a second comm port. This works well

Hi John, I just discovered something amazing. Although I had to build a small Circuit to Key the radio using WriteLog for CW, I do not have to do it for RTTY FSK. All I have connected from my Compute
